Old times good times
I thought I’d give an update on my last race but since I’m pretty busy here in NYC I’m going to make this a quick one and fill in space with pictures and a link to a great article.
This past Sunday I raced a Masters XC race at Sunnybrook Park (a master is technically over 40 but they let 30 year olds race as well). I went up to Sunnybrook with the Harbour team who wanted me to run for them to help them dethrone the Newmarket Huskies. The plan was foiled by someone and I ran solo for Speed River. The Harbour guys finished second, again. I won the race in 25:23 although Jerry Kooymans won the overall age-graded result as I was second. Unlike Senior Nationals, the Masters run up the steep hill at Sunnybrook. And not the same hill I ran up at OFSAA many years ago, but the ‘Bob Moore’ hill.
She’s a steep one! And muddy too.
OK, here is the fascinating read of the week, it’s the confessions of Eddy Hellebuyk. I love how he names names. It makes you wonder what other drug cheats will come clean after years of denial.

I remember racing their for OCAA (Ontario colleges) and thinking “they certainly didn’t use this course when I watched National XC here!”. It’s a tough course!
